Tell us about yourself!
I am Azadeh Eslami, originally from Iran, and I moved to Vancouver to pursue better opportunities. Currently, I work as an Early Childhood Education Assistant and am also studying to improve my qualifications. I enjoy connecting with people and exploring new experiences in Canada.
How do you spend your free time in Vancouver?
I spend my free time walking in parks like Stanley Park or visiting local coffee shops. Sometimes, I also join community events to meet new people and improve my English.
What is the best place in Vancouver to get food from your country?
One of my favorite places is “Persia Foods” or local Persian restaurants like “Cazba.” They serve traditional Iranian dishes, and it makes me feel closer to home.
What some challenges you’ve faced with moving to Canada?
One challenge is learning English and adjusting to the language barrier. Also, understanding the work culture in Canada was difficult at first, but I’ve learned to adapt with time.
What are you hoping to achieve during your time at MOSAIC?
I hope to improve my English skills and gain more confidence in communicating. I also want to learn about job opportunities and build a stronger professional network in Vancouver.
